Equine Fence - Ohio Fencing

There are many different types of equine fencing to choose from, but electric, board, and PVC are the most popular. For the horseman or horsewomen on a budget, electric is the most economical. Popular types of electric fence for horses includes galvanized wire, 1/2-inch electric polytape, 1 1/2-inch electric polytape, or plastic-coated wire. For a larger budget, wood is the top choice. Board, slipboard and rustic rail are all more aesthetically pleasing than wire. The bonus is that wood fence also adds value to your farm. The ultimate equine fence type is PVC. PVC is more costly than either electric or board. However, PVC looks like wood, but it does not require the upkeep. PVC never needs painting, and it won't rust, splinter or break.
Regardless of what kind of fence you choose, regular maintenance checks are important for the safety of your horse. All fences should be walked frequently. For our customers that do not have the time, we can provide you with a free comprehensive assessment of the condition of your current fencing and the cost of any needed repairs.
